Use case: Habitat for Humanity uses FundraisingBox Salesforce Connector

The FundraisingBox Salesforce Connector

With the FundraisingBox Salesforce Connector, we were able to help the organization Habitat for Humanity collect all donor data centrally in one place and access it in real time. Norma Habbel, fundraiser at the organization, reveals how she felt about the project and how satisfied the NGO is with the Connector today.

How our Salesforce Connector works

But first, let’s answer the question how the Salesforce Connector works in general. The Connector is a technical interface between your FundraisingBox and your Salesforce CRM. Via this interface, all online donations are automatically transferred into Salesforce – almost in real time – and without any loss of data. This data exchange works in both ways: The Connector allows you to only work in Salesforce. You can make changes to your data in Salesforce which are automatically synchronized in the FundaisingBox.

The Salesforce Connector for Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity has been using Salesforce as a contact and project database for some time. However, donations and other fundraising processes were documented via other sources. With the FundraisingBox Salesforce Connector, all donor data is now centralized in Salesforce and can be accessed in real time. This means that all donations received via donation forms or fundraising campaigns on the Habitat for Humanity website are transferred directly to Salesforce in real time thanks to the FundraisingBox. In this way, the organization also has online donations available in its CRM in real time, at one glance and can then trigger appropriate follow-up processes.

Mission of Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is an aid organization that aims to give everyone a home. “Because the right to a home is a human right. Our vision is a world in which every person has a protective, solid and dignified home that can serve as the basis for a self-determined life. We are committed to this on all continents,” Norma Habbel, Fundraiser at Habitat for Humanity, explains. In order to accomplish this mission, the NGO not only builds new houses, renovates and retrofits them, it also runs aid projects to improve water, sanitation and hygiene measures, disaster relief and prevention as well as training on topics such as construction, health and housing rights.

How long have you been using Salesforce?

Norma Habbel: The first implementation took place in 2015 and was designed by Salesforce itself via a pro bono service. We have been using Salesforce solely as a database for contacts and projects for many years, while donations have been displayed in the project database for example.

However, this meant that donations and other fundraising processes were still being documented paralelly in various sources, including the much-loved Excel spreadsheets. The desire for a “single source of truth” in one place prompted us to launch our Salesforce 2.0 in 2021.

What are the advantages of using the FundraisingBox together with Salesforce?

Norma Habbel: We have been working together with FundraisingBox for a long time with great satisfaction, so the possibility of the Salesforce Connector came at just the right time.

How do you process your direct debits with Salesforce?

Norma Habbel: We use the Wikando direct debit. This allows us to clearly display all incoming donations in Salesforce.

You have been using our products for some time and have connected our FundraisingBox with Salesforce CRM in a larger project. How did the project go?

Norma Habbel: Together with our implementation partner, we had already thought about how a mapping from FundraisingBox to Salesforce could look. We discussed this with the FundraisingBox, evaluated it, revised it, tested it, implemented it, tested it again and are now using the data in Salesforce.

Which features do you particularly like about the connector?

Norma Habbel: As a fundraiser, I like the fact that I can finally view all donor data in one place with all the information that also concerns our projects, which makes it easier to keep track!

How did you like the FundraisingBox support after go live of the connector?

Norma Habbel: If we had any questions or requests for adjustments (because little things were overlooked during the initial implementation), this was never a problem and was implemented promptly. Thank you for the pleasant cooperation!
